We downtown residents would really like to see a rendering of the cafe/restaurant that is being constructed in Bicentennial Park.

As a Waterford Tower resident, I’m curious about the concrete pad growing ever larger between near the Main St. side of the park– basically right outside my window. I see no structures there in any rendering. What surprise is in store?

Well, there is a lot of action at Bicentennial Park. The concrete floor slab for the new, Bicentennial Park restaurant is currently being poured. Foundations for the Bicentennial Park Amphitheater are also in place. There is also a small mock-up area with concrete at the southern of boundary of the site, along Main Street, that will display site materials before they are installed. This is only a temporary staging area and is not a foundation for a future structure. Hope this helps, and keep the questions coming!

Great renderings. We are excited to see the finished product. Do you know what kind of restaurant Bicentennial Park restaurant will be? I am getting lots of questions about that. Residents and soon to be residents are very excited about the Park, Promenade and Columbus Commons. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Thanks Arol! We do not yet have a restaurateur for Bicentennial Park, but we are planning to issue a request for proposals later this spring. Once selected, this restaurant will officially have to enter into a contract with the city. It is our sincere hope to have a restaurant in place by the time the Scioto Mile opens in June 2011. Stay tuned for updates!
