The Columbus Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC), a private, non-profit corporation established to lead redevelopment projects in downtown Columbus, is charged with managing the Scioto Mile project. The Board of the CDDC consists of the Mayor of Columbus and business and institutional leaders who have a strong commitment to downtown revitalization.
CDDC was created in 2002 to implement the Downtown Strategic Plan, focused on five parallel and complementary action strategies, including: 1) building more downtown housing; 2) stabilizing the downtown office market; 3) creating new downtown neighborhoods; 4) developing a riverfront park system – the Scioto Mile; and 5) improving parking and the movement of cars, transit and people.
