JULY 3 | Red, White & BOOM!

Posted on June 29, 2013

The biggest and best Independence Day fireworks celebration in the Midwest will be fired from Veterans Memorial in downtown Columbus on July 3. Enjoy great food, live music, parade and fireworks at the annual celebration of Red, White & BOOM! Admission is free.

Do NOT claim your spot until after 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 2

The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is asking people to not “claim their spots” in any of the parks for Red, White & Boom prior to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 as our Park Maintenance staff still have to maintain the parks prior to the event. Thus, if anyone places blankets, tarps, ropes, tents, canopies, caution tape, etc. prior to that time, it may be removed by department staff in order to complete mowing and trash pick-up cycles. In addition, all downtown parks have irrigation systems, and therefore, there is absolutely NO “staking” of any kind allowed. The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department sincerely appreciates everyone’s anticipated cooperation.
