The project schedule assumes construction start in May 2008 and completion by November 2011. CDDC has hired MSI, a landscape architecture firm based in Columbus, as the design professionals for the project and Messer Construction Company to manage the project construction activities. The project sponsors are firmly committed to delivering the project on time, within budget, with high quality, and exemplary safety performance.

The first part of the Scioto Mile project was the creation of North Bank Park, which opened in 2005 at a cost of $12 million. With nine acres, North Bank Park includes pedestrian and bike paths that connect to the existing paths to the north and south, boat ramps, an interactive pop-up fountain for children, picnic facilities and a glass-enclosed pavilion overlooking the Columbus skyline that can be rented for meetings, receptions and parties. The median between Spring and Long Streets near Neil Avenue is also incorporated into the Park.
