BATTELLE RIVERFRONT PARK

About Battelle Riverfront Park

This 4.10 acre park at 25 Marconi Boulevard features the James Barney Children’s Fountain, sculpted by Jack Greaves, which tells the fable of an American Indian child named Pickaweekee. There is also a statue honoring the city’s early Italian immigrants, and a tour-ready replica of the Santa Maria, the cargo ship that brought Christopher Columbus to the New World in 1492. The park is also home to the Columbus Fire Memorial, which honors firefighters who were killed in the line of duty. The park was dedicated to honor Ohio industrialist Gordon Battelle, and funded through the Battelle Memorial Institute, a charitable trust organized for technology research.
