Grand Illumination presented by Justice

Lights twinkle through January 8, 2017

Celebrate the holiday season with the Grand Illumination of the Scioto Mile. The lights twinkle in Bicentennial Park and along the Scioto Mile until mid-January. In keeping with the city’s green initiatives, all seasonal decorations feature energy efficient LED lighting, including more than 250,000 LED lights on 150 trees. The Scioto Mile Fountain presented by the American Electric Power Foundation comes alive for the holiday season with festive video projections and illuminated spheres suspended from each of the five fountain halos.

Lighting Festivities | Friday, December 2, 2016 | 5:00 PM−7:00 PM

Celebrate the holiday season in downtown Columbus as thousands of twinkling lights illuminate the Scioto Mile.

The Grand Illumination will kick off with an evening of holiday inspired entertainment and activities for all ages, and a special appearance by Santa!

Help brighten the holidays for a hospitalized child. Stop by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital/Justice tent to send a get well message to a patient. Also, pick up a special set of HoloSpex snowflake glasses.

Attendees are also encouraged to support the Empty Bowls project by purchasing a piece of handcrafted pottery and receiving a bowl of warm soup compliments of Milestone 229 or Giant Eagle, with all proceeds benefitting the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
