A Place for the Creation and Appreciation
of Visual Arts
As the most unique public arts program in central Ohio, the Cultural Arts Center offers novice to advanced art enthusiasts the opportunity to explore the incredible world of visual art. No matter your skill or interest level, at our fine arts center, you can express your ideas, enhance your creativity, work with your hands and explore your artistic potential. You can gain inspiration from others, participate in passionate discussions, work alongside accomplished artists and venture into new art learning.
Performing Arts OptionsCultural Arts Center Offerings
You are invited to participate in the Cultural Arts Center’s many exciting program opportunities. Attend college-level classes and workshops in a relaxed, non-accredited recreational setting; tour the historic 160-year-old arsenal; visit the free monthly gallery exhibits, attend lectures and special events; and shop in the gift shop filled with one-of-a-kind art work.
A Diverse Array of Learning Opportunities
The Cultural Arts Center offers classes in seven- or eight-week increments on a variety of topics, with a total of six such sessions per year. It also presents periodic workshops, lasting no more than a few days, on more specialized topics administrated by local and national artists.

- Special workshops
Innovative Visual Exhibitions by Ohio Artists
The Center’s Main Gallery and Loft Gallery keep up monthly schedules of new exhibitions by local and statewide artists, including periodic shows featuring work by Center students. Main Gallery exhibitions usually rotate mid-month, while Loft Gallery shows change at the end of each month. For group shows, gallery administrators will put out calls for artwork, and the Center also accepts proposals for exhibitions.

The longest-running series of art talks in Columbus, the Center’s Conversations & Coffee events, are free weekly discussions to which visitors are encouraged to bring bag lunches. They cover a variety of topics connected to visual and performing arts. In addition, the Center can accommodate tours for adult and student groups, as well as be rented for weddings and other major gatherings.
